Education Server Program
Since 1999
we have been
running the Education Server Program, which provides school teachers in
South East Europe with a vast information
resource in all the teachers' mother tongues on education for
democracy, human rights and citizenship for use in civic education
classes and the teaching of social subjects.
We are constantly adding new information to
this website and updating
and adapting its material to the needs and interests of the region's
teachers. A large network of partner organisations use the Education
Server for educational activities and distribute free CD-ROMs containing
the entire website contents to teachers, so that they may work offline
at no cost themselves or their schools.
In order to enable the full use of this exceptional resource and to
facilitate the exploitation of new technologies in accessing and
exchanging information for teaching in schools, we
support
trainings for teachers in the use of computers, the Internet and
e-mail. 2.183 teachers have been trained so far.
We developed a new concept for IT teacher trainers called FIT@school

Training for EDC Multipliers:
"Teaching Politics in SEE"
In the course of our work since 1998 it became obvious that there is an
urgent need in the entire region to enable multipliers to "teach
politics". Both
knowledge about the related contents and skills for teaching it in a
target group oriented approach are lacking.
We reacted on these needs in two ways: firstly, we developed a new teaching unit "Teaching Politics" on www.dadalos.org. Secondly, we
conceptualised a pilot training project that runs over 6 months. It is a
course that combines three seminars
and two distance learning phases.
The aim of this course is to enable
multipliers present and future, to transfer knowledge and skills in the
subject areas of democracy, political parties and the European Union.
The narrower objectives are to get them acquainted with relevant topics,
suitable teaching methodology and cross-cutting skills (like Internet
research and presentation methods).
In 2006, the course was held for the fifth time.
More than 70 multipliers from all countries of SEE have graduatued
from this course so far. |
